James Mataliro – LLB UNZA, AHCZ

Mr Mataliro is a Partner at James & Doris Legal Practitioners with more than 14 years of bar qualification experience. He brings vast experience and skills from public and private sector with proven experience and skills in commercial and public law practice, crime investigations and prosecutions, legal drafting, research and rendering of legal opinions. James enjoys wide experience in Civil Litigation involving suits for and against the government acquired through long time handling of civil matter at Attorney General’s Chambers and as a private legal practitioner. James has a rock-hard reputation as an investor advisor and deal negotiator having participated in a number of investor advising and deal negotiation transactions of multibillion dollar investment portfolios. He has a traceable exposure and experience in property, employment, commercial and corporate advisory law practice.  He has sat on the Occupational Health Safety Institute as a Board Secretary for over five years and has earned him vast corporate governance skills and experience.  He is a Committee Member for the Ministerial Audit Committee and a member of the Law Association of Zambia Council.  He has excellent communications and presentation skills, vast administration skills, goal oriented, disciplined, and commitment to achieve the desired results with minimal supervision, social and possess ability to adapt and adjust to changing work environment.

Mike Benwa – LLB. (CUZ) AHCZ

Mark is a Senior Associate in the firm and is a well founded lawyer who is more than able to offer sound legal advice as well as representation to clients on a wide range of legal matters. As a practitioner Mark has a proven track record of success in civil litigation and has both local and international experience in contract negotiations and legal drafting. Mike Benwa (AHCZ, LLB)

Mr. Mike Benwa is an effervescent Advocate at James & Doris Legal Practitioners. He is a well goal oriented, broad-minded Legal Practitioner who has experience in inter alia; Legal drafting, research and rendering of legal opinions, he is equally up to the task in both Civil and Criminal Litigation with vast court appearances. Doris Nayame Chibombe (AHCZ, ASCZ, ACIArb, LLB, MDS, Dip LEG.DRAFT)

As Deputy Inspector General of Police,  Mrs Doris Nayame chibombe is the principal assistant to the Inspector General of Police on all matters of administration and assumes  command of the Zambia Police in the absence of the Inspector General. She is responsible for managing, directing and coordinating human resource and administrative support functions of the Zambia Police Service. She is also responsible for managing medical services, training and development, research and planning, Information Technology (IT) and Engineering, Firearms, Armoury, and agricultural functions. She is also responsible for the Zambia Police Thrift Society organization, a police business venture where she sits as Board Chairperson. 

Mrs Chibombe is a legal Practitioner of more than 14 years standing on the Bar with progressive legal practice and experience and has been a unique combination of legal and law enforcement experience in the public and private sector. She has over 27 years of law enforcement experience having worked in the government specifically the Zambia Police Service. She also has  6 years of private practice experience having worked and practiced law as a private legal practitioner and partner at James & Doris Legal Practitioners. She has proven skills in administrative law and procedures, law enforcement, criminal law investigations and prosecutions, employment law, corporate and commercial transactions, legislative and legal drafting, immigration and citizenship consultancy, family and children’s law, property law and conveyancing, Investment law consultancy services and alternative dispute resolution practice specifically arbitration and mediation. She has served as member of various Boards/Committees/Commissions including the National Parole Board, the Legal and Justice Reforms Commission, the Committee of Stake Holders of the Criminal Justice System, the Ministry of Home Affairs Procurement Committee, the Ministry of Home Affairs Cabinet Liaison Committee, the Committee on Access to Justice Program, Refugee Eligibility and Status Determination Committee and the Legal Sub-Committee of the Southern African Police Chiefs Organization.  Her membership on these Boards/Committees/Commissions has earned her vast corporate governance skills and experience. She is currently a Member and Vice Chairperson of the Ministry of Defense Audit Committee. She also has deep interest in alternative dispute resolution methods and as a Court Annexed Mediator and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, She is regularly involved in out of Court negotiations and settlement. She is highly motivated and able to exercise independent judgment in achieving the vision and mission of any organization. She is also task oriented and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound planning and organization capabilities. She communicates clearly and concisely with people of diverse backgrounds and levels of authority and she is team player who collaborates with diversely talented team members, and integrates their divergent thoughts, opinions and perspectives into meaningful action. She is computer proficient with experience in MS packages particularly word outlook, internet explorer and produces reports of up to 5, 000 words with legal research packages.

George Tembo (AHCZ, LLB)

He is a vibrant legal practitioner with the capacity to assess and protect client’s best interests in both civil and criminal matters. He’s areas of practice experience includes handling intricate matters in commercial law, mining law, energy law, immigration law, property law, probate law, employment law, contract law, constitutional law, and administrative law. Aside from litigation, he has been involved in a number of alternative dispute resolution settlements via mediation and ex curia negotiations. His areas of expertise also include drafting of legal documents including document in conveyance, commercial transactions, employment contracts and company and corporate compliance.
